This year, the German brand introduced a brand-new four-door fastback sedan to the lineup called the 2019 Volkswagen Arteon. The midsize family car is a fastback, which means it has the appearance of a regular sedan rather than a hatchback but the rear of the vehicle does all become a hatch that opens up, creating more cargo space than a trunk would. The VW Arteon was first introduced at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show in March of that year and then made its North American debut at the following year’s Chicago Auto Show. Its 2.0L turbocharged 4-cylinder engine is capable of generating 268 horsepower alongside 258 pound-feet of torque. The engine is tethered to an 8-speed automatic transmission, but shoppers have a choice between a front- or all-wheel drive system. The engine achieves 22 miles per gallon through city streets like those here in Green Bay, or 31 miles per gallon when you hop on the highway.
